Fear

What is fear?

According to Dictionary.com Fear is:

a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.


What is anxiety?

According to Dictionary.com Anxiety is:

distress or uneasiness of mind caused by fear of danger or misfortune: He felt anxiety about the possible loss of his job.

earnest but tense desire; eagerness:


In today's society, fear is basically anxiety. We've just put a more technical term on it. Its the feeling you get when you're constantly worried about something; afriad of something that has, or maybe hasnt even happened yet. And who's to say its going to? You let it take over your brain even when you dont actually want to think about it or feel it. And just as it says above.. whether its real or imagined. Humans have a tendency to let fear control them. But why are we letting this happen? Why are we letting "the unknown" control our brain? Why are we intensely afraid of fear?

Its a lot easier said than done, so I'm not saying this because I'm some great magical listen to my own advice kind of person... but, stop being afraid of what you cant control. It's impossible to control everything. Its impossible to control every situation, every scenario, every persons actions, etc. Have some confidence and security in yourself to know that you control you. You control what your mind thinks or believes. And if you have a thought that you're afraid of, think of something else. Think of something that makes you smile, or helps take your mind off whatever negative thought is going through it. Do something different than whatever it is you're actively doing and thinking negatively.


Again, I'm human too.. so i know it is way easier said than done. But, I also do take my own advice as best as i can and try to distract myself and redirect my thoughts if I'm having those anxious or fearful thoughts.
